Plunket Mid-South Canterbury provides a free Well Child health service to families with children aged 0-5 years. Plunket nurses and Karitane provide information and support on feeding/nutrition, development, behaviour, unsettled babies, maternal and childhood illness and disabilities. Volunteers support this work and provide car seat rental schemes, safety information, playgroups, social groups and toy libraries.

The Plunket Karitane Family Centre provides a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with trained staff to assist families with children under 5 years. On offer: practical support, help and information on breastfeeding, nutrition, sleeping, parenting skills, child behaviour, special needs, and family health.
He Oranga Pai Health Clinic
He Oranga Pai Health Clinic provides a free Tamariki Ora / Well Child Service to whanau in South Canterbury with children aged 0-5 years old, regardless of ethnicity. The Tamariki Ora nurse provides Well Child assessments, support, advice and information during home visits. Referral to this service maybe made by anyone, including whanau.
